

This exciting and dynamic department offers students a chance to learn the applications and skills of Information Technology.
The College is extremely well resourced with over 350 curriculum computers and laptops.The college has three air conditioned ICT suites with colour laser printing facilities. Every machine has filtered internet access.Students are issued with an individual username, E-mail address and storage space.
In recent years we have built many links with local business agencies who have assisted us in curriculum and field research.
We run an ICT club every Tuesday, and an IT room is available from Tuesday to Friday for Year 10 & Year 11 catch up.

| Course Outline: | Students will have to present two portfolios,one is a documented working sub system and the other is a multimedia e-portfolio. These two portfolios are worth 84% of the final GCSE grade. |

| They will also have to sit an externally set and marked assignment examining the contents covered in Unit One. This assignment will take 10-15 hours and will be on a context set by the Examination Board. This exam is undertaken during normal ICT lessons. |
